The Global Connectivity Index (GCI) is an annual study and white paper published by Huawei. It is a research platform that provides a comprehensive map of the global digital economy by measuring the digital transformation of 79 nations. The index was launched in 2014 and is in it’s 5th year of publication.
My role was to redesign the website in 2017 and refresh it in 2018, extending the platform to include 29 more countries' data, additional media widgets such as a News Centre, e-reader, and audio series, and an additional page on Industry Impact, as well as showcasing an updated 2018 visual identity.
Building upon the success of the 2017 GCI site, the client asked to add new sections and features to the 2018 site – including a News Centre and a Media page- alongside a reskin of the site following a fresher, brighter visual identity.
